Free video calls, one to one

Start a meeting, send the link, talk. No account, no app, no time limit. The call goes straight between your two browsers, encrypted.

You get a link to send. Up to 2 people.

How to start a free video call

Why it's private

WebRTC encrypts every call with DTLS-SRTP. When the two networks allow it, which is most of the time, audio and video go directly from one browser to the other and never touch our server. Our server only passes the few messages the browsers need to find each other. When a direct path is blocked (some offices, hotels and mobile carriers), the call goes through Cloudflare's TURN relay, which forwards the encrypted packets without being able to read them. Nothing is recorded or stored.

Each call shows a six-digit security code (press the shield). It comes from the encryption keys of both browsers, so if you both read out the same code, nobody is sitting in the middle of the call.

Questions

Is it really free?

Yes. One-to-one calls are free, with no account, no ads and no time limit. Most calls go directly between the two browsers, so they cost almost nothing to run.

Do I need to install anything or sign up?

No. It runs in Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari on phones, tablets and computers. Open the link, allow the camera and microphone, and join.

Is the call private?

Audio and video are encrypted with DTLS-SRTP, the standard WebRTC encryption, and go straight between the two browsers when the networks allow it. Otherwise they pass through Cloudflare's TURN relay, still encrypted. Nothing is recorded. Compare the security code on both screens to be sure nobody is in the middle.

How many people can join?

Two. Meetings are one to one, which keeps them direct, fast and free. A third person who opens the link is told the meeting is full.

How long does a meeting link last?

You can use the same link again as often as you like. A link that nobody opens for 7 days is deleted.

Can I share my screen?

Yes, on computers: press the screen button during the call and pick a tab, window or screen. Phones and tablets don't let websites share the screen.

The camera or microphone doesn't work. What do I do?

Click the camera icon in the address bar and allow both for navaja.dev, then reload. On iPhone, check Settings → Safari → Camera and Microphone. Close other apps that use the camera (Zoom, Teams, FaceTime), since only one app can use it at a time on some systems.

It says it can't connect. Why?

Very strict networks (some company VPNs and firewalls) block video calls entirely. Try another network, like your phone's mobile data. The call reconnects by itself after short network drops, like switching from Wi-Fi to 4G.
